Go Back
Season 4 effectively spelled the end of this era as it was the final season for both Dan Aykroyd and John Belushi, which would lead to Bill Murray and Garret Morris to really fill in the gap in the next season. To make it worse, this season has a list of bad hosts. From Frank Zappa to Milton Berle, the season often had to lean on regular guests like Buck Henry, Elliott Gould, and Eric Idle when the going got dense.
THE MAYOR OF NYC??????
New anchor for Weekend Update is Bill Murray, replacing Dan Ackroyd. I don't really like this change, the delivery isn't really hard hitting because he always switches up the tone, especially in Point/Counterpoint.
Favorite Sketches:
Bill Murray got a little better on Weekend Update, but the segment still seems boring to me.
Not a lot of sketches to really praise, even the audience didn't laugh that much.
Favorite Sketches:
I don't know why but this man looks so unlikeable.
Favorite Sketches:
STEVE !
Favorite Sketches:
Bro is starting to forget how many times he hosted.
This episode is bad. Sketches are boring and unnessacarily dragged.
Favorite Sketches:
Oh hey, it's the girl from that one Star Wars movie.
I thought the Loud Family sketch was just gonna be loud people for the next 4 minutes, but I'm glad there's at least some comedic conflict. Everything else was just a snoozer.
Favorite Sketches:
I don't know who this dude is, but he's pretty funny.
Just realized the musical guest was cast member Garrett Morris. It's kinda crazy how they couldn't find another musical guest, but I gotta admit he's a great singer.

"Now I've done it... I've cut the dickens out of my finger... "
Ayy, brit man back. Episode wasn't bad ngl.
Favorite Sketches:
Alright, another Christmas episode.
Favorite Sketches:
Dan Aykroyd is PACKING. Crazy to see a British person play Hitler. The Doobie Brothers plays a song that sounds so familiar, can't put my finger on it.
Favorite Sketches:
Weekend Update saved me. I didn't like almost ANY of these sketches at all. It's almost like they didn't try.
Favorite Sketches:
CHICO NOOOOOO!!!!!!!!
This Point/Counterpoint was pretty funny. Sketches were funnier, but they just never end.
Favorite Sketches:
I'm not sure how I feel about this one... it's almost like... this episode is funny. This might be the first time I liked a Nerds sketch. The big Fred Silverman plot is funny as shit, especially when he tried to change the programming when he put the Today show in primetime.
Favorite Sketches:
That was a long ass musical performance. I don't know it went back to mid. I mean, some sketches were all right.
Favorite Sketches:
I'm feeling pretty lucky. (Context: This is a St. Patrick's Day episode) It's crazy how they made a version of The View before the The View even released.
Favorite Sketches:
I lot of lore in the Nerds series. Seriously, that sketch lasted like, half of the episode. I also forgot John Belushi didn't appear throughout this entire episode.
After some research, I heard the Milton Berle episode was the worst episode of the season. But it can't be that bad, right?
Favorite Sketches:
It was that bad. Pretty boring mostly. I loved On The Spot though.
Favorite Sketches:
He's back already? Bro he just hosted like, 8 shows ago. Damn, this episode is so forgettable.
Favorite Sketches:
Weekend Update still carries the show, even during the older seasons.
Favorite Sketches:
The intro cutoff was funny as shit. Also my favorite monologue of the season.
