starting listening to OK Go's debut album. never realized how much they changed their sound. like, from their debut it's more power pop, and Oh No is more garage-punk. I kinda prefer their debut tho, even if the band doesn't like that sound.
this was one of the songs I've been listening on repeat for the past few days.

started making a list of pet peeves this morning.
originally, I only had like three, but the more I kept writing, the more I realized how much I hate people who are fake. here's 23 pet peeves I already came up with so far.
and yes, I'm still writing more.

I got rejected from nyu.
honestly, I'm not even that surprised nor sad about it, but it gave me a huge epiphany.
the more I think about it, the more dreading it's going to be staying in my home state for college. I never really thought about how my life could really turn into once I graduate high school and the future seems pretty grey as of now. I've been so used to immediate change here and there and I don't wanna live a stagnent life with a somewhat stable job while living in the same damn house I've been in for nearly half of my time living. I just need to be in a place where I can be busy, and I guess that's why I wanted to go to nyu. the school is literally in the middle of one of the busiest cities in the world, and I wanted to be immerised in it.
but just because I got rejected doesn't mean I'm giving up. I already had a plan if I did get rejected, and that involves me leaving out of my home state as soon as possible. I genuinely don't want to live a boring ass life, I need to do something exciting and social, and that's not gonna happen in the next few months, maybe even years.

I've always had some big dreams, especially when it comes to working in the television industry.
sure, I don't know really have a concrete plan for my carrer path, but I know what I want to pursue in my future, or at least a general idea. I may want to create something that can lead to a success when it comes to film, but I don't have a certain artistic vision, but I love to help with others who want to bring their ideas to life while also making a huge success. that's sort of the main reason why I want to become more of a tv executive than a creator. I have ideas for how I want to run the industry that could still benefit the viewer and the business, and the main thing I want to do is focus on two things: monoculture and tradition.
it's getting hard to watch a show that everyone is watching at once and its becoming less of an event to come back in every episode when they see an entire season within a day and then forget about it. I noticed streaming services try to bring back the weekly episode schedule for certain shows, but the main thing they're missing is yearly seasons. I'm a big fan of tv seasons. seeing new shows in the fall, watching all their reoccuring shows becoming hits in real-time, and just seeing everyone's reactions to last-night's episode will always be meaningful to me.
I may have grownup in an age where the internet brings endless curated content and streaming becoming more mainstream, it also brings the downside of bloated quantity, even if there's still some prestigious stuff in the rough.
I honestly don't know where I'm going with this, but all I know is that I'm either gonna' make a successful tv show, or I'm gonna be the reason there is a successful tv show.

actually making some good progress on the snl binge. while I was watching, I started making a heatmap of every episode I rated, complete with stats on average rating per season, average rating for the whole show, and how many times I gave each rating for each episode.
I honestly can't wait to see how it'll look by the time I get to season 30.

oh right so, last night was SNL's 1000th episode. I starting watching new snl episodes since season 48 and I had a fun idea to every episode back in 2024. I lowkey stopped by season 8 because I got busy and even then it's harder to watch these old episodes and most of the time, I just don't get it.
might need to get back into the habit, maybe just watching at least one episode a day. if my mental math is correct, by the end of the year, I'll most likely be by season 27, and I personally think the show doesn't get good until season 14 or 21, only because it'll have pop culture references that I can understand and there'll be hosts that I can recognize back-to-back.

oh my god, I deadass don't want to go to school again.
I felt so free not doing anything and staying home, not worrying about my schoolwork now that it's the new quarter. but then again, I still feel extremely lazy and guilty for forgetting certain assignments I haven't done in the last quarter. I missed a few because I was so focused on extracurriculars and now I just feel drained from all of january trying to keep up with every task.
my friends have made a few predictions for this month. one has a bunch of epiphanies and despair in their lives, and some were trying to give good karma on people's relationships. I just think I'm either going to be popping bottles or popping bottles.
